Dear Heavenly Sounds Family! π
πͺοΈ Hurricane Safety: Be Prepared, Stay Safe!
Your safety and the safety of your loved ones always come first! π As we move through hurricane season, we want to remind our Heavenly Sounds family to stay informed, prepare ahead, and take severe weather warnings seriously.
Even if a hurricane isnβt headed your way right now, taking a few minutes to prepare can make a difference.
π 1. Prepare Your Home
- Secure outdoor furniture and loose items when it is safe to do so.
- Keep flashlights, extra batteries, and backup phone chargers available.
- Make sure you have essential supplies, including food, drinking water, and necessary medications.
- Keep important documents in a safe, accessible place.
π± 2. Stay Informed
- Monitor your local weather forecast and official emergency alerts.
- Keep your phone charged and have a backup way to receive emergency information.
- Follow instructions from local emergency management officials.
- Know your areaβs evacuation routes before an emergency occurs.
- We will try to email more info later
π 3. Have an Emergency Kit
Consider gathering these essentials: - π§ Drinking water and nonperishable food - π¦ Flashlights and extra batteries - π©Ή A first-aid kit and necessary medications - π Portable phone chargers or power banks - π§Ό Hygiene supplies - π Copies of important documents - πΎ Supplies for pets, if applicable
π¨ 4. Know When to Act
If local officials issue an evacuation order, follow their instructions promptly. Never walk or drive through floodwater. Just a small amount of moving water can be dangerous, and flooded roads may hide serious hazards.
If a hurricane is approaching, stay indoors in a secure location away from windows and glass doors. Follow official guidance about when it is safe to go outside.
πΉ 5. Give Yourself Permission to Pause
We love music, learning, and staying connected with our students and families. However, lessons, rehearsals, and schedules can wait when safety is at risk.
If severe weather affects your area, please prioritize your householdβs safety and follow local emergency guidance. We can work through schedule changes when conditions allow.
